In collaboration with Free Arts of Arizona, homeless, abused and neglected teens living in group homes, shelters and residential treatment programs throughout Maricopa County have an opportunity to create and experience the arts through a two-week theater camp at the Herberger Theater Center. Arizona Young Artists' Competition
The Herberger Theater Center and Center Dance Ensemble recognize aspiring young performers between the ages of 16 - 20. Four finalists in the categories of acting, modern dance and voice are selected by qualified judges from preliminary auditions. A $1,000 cash prize is awarded to the winner in each discipline at the final competition. Learn More
Wolf Trap
This effort teams the Herberger Theater Center with Center Dance Ensemble. Performing artists are brought into preschool and Head Start classrooms to enhance the educational advancement of children and to train parents and teachers in the use of performing arts as a teaching tool. Learn More
Arizona Opera School Tour
A collaboration between the Herberger Theater Center and Arizona Opera to encourage participation in the staging and performing of an opera. Students have an interactive experience with trained classical singers as they take on roles in a production. The program is targeted to high school students. Learn More
Young Arts Arizona
Throughout the year, the Herberger Theater Center exhibits artwork from Young Arts Arizona in the rehearsal hall walkway. YA works with challenged children to help them express their feelings through art. Learn more.
