The Herberger Theater’s Art Galleries feature creative and inspiring work, showcasing Arizona artists and providing a platform for visual art. All artwork is for sale with 30% of the proceeds from each piece sold benefiting the Herberger Theater’s youth education and community outreach programs.

Each year, 10-12 exhibits are held in its two galleries located on the second level of the theater. Created as a venue for local artists in 2002, each juried exhibit is on display for one or two months. Exhibits may be viewed Monday through Sunday, 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (check in at the box office), before performances, and during opening receptions.
Arizona artists age 18+ may apply for inclusion in exhibits through our Call to Artist blind jury process.

Big Exhibit
The Herberger Theater welcomes Arizona artists to apply for the upcoming Big Exhibit.
The exhibit will be on display in the Herberger Theater’s Galleries, December 4, 2026 – January 31, 2027.
Theme Description
Not a Tiny Show – a showcase of bold, large-scale artwork designed to make an impact. All artwork, including framing, must be a minimum of 3 feet tall and a maximum of 8 feet tall.

Tiny Exhibit

Celebrate the impact of art on a small scale! All artwork must fit within 12″x12″x12″, including the frame and any mounting or display elements.

Artists are invited to submit work for an exhibition celebrating the built environment in all its forms. We encourage creative interpretations that explore architectural beauty, design, craftsmanship, geometry, light and shadow, preservation, urban growth, or the relationship between people and the spaces they inhabit.
