The Herberger Theater’s Art Galleries feature creative and inspiring work, showcasing Arizona artists and providing a platform for visual art. All artwork is for sale with a portion of the proceeds from each piece sold benefiting the Herberger Theater’s youth education and community outreach programs.
Each year 10-12 exhibits are held in its two galleries located on the second level of the theater. Created as a venue for local artists in 2002, each juried exhibit is on display for one or two months. Exhibits may be viewed Monday through Sunday, 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (check in at the box office), before performances, and during opening receptions.
Arizona artists age 18+ may apply for inclusion in exhibits through our Call to Artist blind jury process. Our current Call to Artists opportunities are below.
Nature Exhibit
The exhibit will be on display at the Herberger Theater, November 1 – December 1, 2024.
Description
An exhibit showing the visual benefits of our natural world. Examples are hummingbirds, sunsets, streams and forests. Art that reduce the stress and mental fatigue of our everyday modern life. Nature nurtures us… well-being without side effects.

Planes, Trains and Automobiles Exhibit
The exhibit will be on display at the Herberger Theater, November 1 – December 1, 2024.
Description
An exhibit featuring all modes of transportation, not just planes, trains and automobiles.

Tiny Exhibit

Description
Artwork that is only small in size! All artwork must be no larger than 12”x12”x12” (including frame).

Big Exhibit
The exhibit will be on display at the Herberger Theater, December 1, 2024 – February 2, 2025.
Description
Not a tiny show – an exhibit featuring art made to be seen big. All art, including frame, must be at least 3 feet tall, but no more than 8 feet tall.

Square Exhibit
The exhibit will be on display at the Herberger Theater, February 7 – March 2, 2025.
Description
The only rule is artwork that is made in a square dimension (final dimensions of the artwork). If piece is 3D, the base of the artwork must be square.
